A nice industrial edged opening here which I really liked. When the vocal came in, I thought it sounded like a bassier version of Placebo’s Brian Molko, especially with the delivery.

There was a nice energy when we came into the choruses and I thought they really lifted the track. Some solid riffs and I found the melody really strong too. Such a well mixed and produced song – especially the drums!

The song lyrics focus on a person grappling with the painful realization that they are being hurtful towards a loved one and the resulting feelings of bitterness and self-loathing rising from it so, it’s pretty powerful stuff to say the least.

I’m quite often asked what my favourite part or aspect of a song is and, on Trampled, my overall highlight was around 2:54 where it burst into life, just for a very short time before returning to it’s earlier tone and taking us through to the song’s end.
