I actually couldn’t WAIT to hear this one. I must have clicked play as soon as it hit the inbox!
I’ve been a fan of Kim Jennett’s vocal for a few years now and I was intrigued as to how the voice would fair with the bluesy guitar of Krissy Matthews. Well… It was like they were born to be together.
The track started with a very slow “Hendrix” infused classic sounding bluesy feel and, at first, I wondered how the rocking roar of Kim was going to fit. I needn’t have worried one little bit and, if I’m totally honest, it was nice to hear a more laid back vocal from her – I thought it really brought out the character in her voice.
The chorus had a really cool vibe to it and the delivery was perfection. Not to be outdone, Krissy comes in with a very emotive solo which treated us for a while and it is easy to see why he is being touted as one to watch.
It wasn’t long before KJ turned up the heat again and we had some nice ad-libs towards the end of the song too.
A match made in rock n blues these guys. Loved it!
