This had a rawness about it that just sort of hit me.
It was like Summer Of 69 but with a snarly southern drawl rather than a slick Bryan Adams style vocal.
I generally prefer sleek production but this had a sheer energy about it that grabbed you in a more homemade hooch than Gentleman Jack way and I really liked that.
It was entertaining, engaging and it was almost like someone had grabbed The Goo Goo Dolls, rolled them around a bit, got them drunk and said – “Here, sing this!”
Sometimes you just gotta go with what sings to you , what hits you and this was one of those moments. Not everything is about perfection and I just love to be entertained!
