This song is amazing actually. It’s like “cheery” grunge!
I’ve heard a few tracks by the band and there’s not been a bad one yet – which is unusual as even the best bands have a dodgy one here and there.
With the melody and vocal style it put me in mind very much of Lillian Axe which is a huge positive for me.
Production was amazing, the drumming quite expressive – rather than just keeping a rhythm, there was actually emotion and feeling in the playing which gave the song that extra dimension over a lot of what I hear.
There were no “heroes” here. Nobody was vying for the limelight over anyone else with everyone putting in a solid performance and giving something to the track.
From the rumble of the bass to the constant melody of the guitars – all providing the perfect backdrop for that vocal which, never felt the need to take the roof off – another positive for me as, too many singers feel the need to let rip every chance they get.
Cracking song once again!
