It’s not often that bassists get the recognition that they deserve but, for me, this is the star of the show here as it successfully sets the whole mood here.
Don’t get me wrong, the guitars do their job by creating a nice little melody for the song but, unusually, I felt that the vocalist was being backed more by their rhythm section – especially in the verses – with the guitars just lending the support when needed.
We do get a nice lead break with a funky little trill in there as well and the song does have a solid riff too.
Vocally, I felt that it could have been a little more charismatic but, at the end of the day there was nothing wrong with it and it did the job perfectly well – I just like to hear a wail from time to time 🙂
Did I enjoy this? Absolutely!
