As it opened, I didn’t think it was going to be my kind of thing.
The vocal was nice but, it was just a little soft for my tastes. We hit around 52 seconds and I was made to sit up. There was just something in there that was shining through that made me want to give this song a chance.
It died back for a bit but then.. it kicked up a notch and “Hey brother…” had the vocal hitting new heights, the music filled out and we had something to work with here.
It put me in mind of the Gin Blossoms, Goo Goo Dolls that sort of thing and developed a catchiness almost out of nowhere.
A song about something so simple but, sometimes that’s what we need… let’s not overcomplicate our leisure time. Just sit back, listen to a song and enjoy it.
That’s exactly what I did when I pressed play second time around.
Well written, well played and great vocal in a class production. Yeah, I liked this – I reckon you will too.
