When it started I thought it was going to be just another country rocker BUT…. Thirty seconds in, the rock kicked the country out the door a little.
Putting aside the song opening, this is an absolute firecracker of a song with one of the finest vocals that has hit my inbox of late. It was stunning enough in the melodic verse sections but, when it went from there to the chorus, it took that little lift and exuded energy…
Come in 2:17 and it cranks it up ANOTHER notch to prove that it ain’t no one trick pony.
The voice wasn’t the only thing to impress me with this track though. The musicianship was top tier with the perfectly timed drumming lending so much energy and provided such a perfect backing for the entire song, adding such a feel to proceedings along with some solid bass playing. The guitar playing was pretty special too.
The star of the show though? Whoever produced it!
