This one had me at hello!
Oone of the best vocals I’ve heard in ages. Not for the range or note hitting ability, just the sheer tone!
It’s been a while since I’ve just lost myself in such a soulful, bluesy rock vibe. I’m a huge Joe Cocker fan and, while I am not comparing the voice to that of the late, great JC, the music had the same qualities.
It was all just so groove laden, driven on by that bass-line, accentuated by some nice guitar playing and a solid, steady rhythm and the whole thing just worked. The vocal was just so consistent, lifting with a little gritiness when it came to the chorus and I felt like I knew the song before the end of the first listen. BVs were impressive too.
Awesome track. So awesome, I listened again!
