I read who was involved in this track and KNEW I was in for something special.
I Wasn’t disappointed.
It started off nice and slow, but deliberate and and it eased me in gently. Joe Retta has such a smooth voice here, akin to Paul Rodgers and it had the same calm authority about it.
George Lynch was a little subdued – which was nice to hear actually – and Bjorn Englen’s bass just steadily rumbled away.
This all created a similar sound to my favourite era of Bad Company – That Company Of Strangers era (i know.. heathen that I am! – and it was one of those pretty perfect bluesy rocking tracks.
Nothing fanciful – a shocker with the line-up – and just some good, old fashioned rock. All about the music, not the egos (not that I am suggesting for a minute these guys HAVE egos haha!
Thoroughly enjoyable and I’ll be keeping an eye on this project.
