That guitar sound as this opened was lush!
This was nothing new song format wise, it’s been done like a gazillion times but there was just so much quality and style in here that made it stand out for all the right reasons.
A vocal full of charisma and a teensy bit of swagger led the way with a very solid performance, never putting a foot out of place the entire way through.
The rhythm section was consistent and the tones and punch from that bass guitar were immense. The guitar work excelled as soon as it was allowed to shine in the lead sections and I thought it was so well accompanied by the keys in there too.
After we had an all encompassing guitar solo, the voice picked up where it left off and demonstrated some well placed gritiness alongside glimpses of the range it was capable of.
Such a sweet song!
