Some great riffage here – very 80s hard rock!
I liked the vocal tone but, DID think it was a little stripped of emotion in the early parts. There just seemed to be something missing and I couldn’t put my finger on it. As it ramped up, and there was a bit more backing to be had from the rest of the band, it did let go a bit – did it hold back as it felt too exposed? I don’t know, there WAS something though. Compare the start with around 3:25 in and you’ll see what I mean or, maybe it was the music lacking the “oomph” early on, I can’t decide but I’m now leaning more towards the backing).
I thought it had a bit of a Queensryche feel about it – just that punchy rhythm, cool bassline and the guitars were just awesome.
Great chorus, top drawer solo and, yeah, I enjoyed this.
